 UPCOMING KH EVENTS

Community Meeting: Our annual community meeting will take place on Tuesday, June 24 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s. In addition to approving the budget and electing two Vaad members, we will also be asking the membership for suggestions for new tikkun olam projects, fundraising programs, guest speakers, children’s programming and social events. If you are unable to attend, please designate another member to vote on your behalf using the attached proxy ballot.

 Kiddushim

June 14 Thanks to Joanne and Alfred Ivry for sponsoring last week’s kiddush in honor of their 50th anniversary and Joanne’s Bat Mitzvah. Mazel tov!

June 21 Kiddush lunch in honor of KH kids celebrating educational milestones--the Cheder kids on completing their year of study, KH kids graduating from Middle School and High School, and siddur recipients from SSDS.

June 28 Kiddush in honor of Reverend Ken Near who will be retiring from St Paul’s Church.

Sponsor a Kiddush:  We would like to invite every Kol HaNeshamah family to sponsor a kiddush this year in honor of a special occasion or...just because!  For just $50 you can sponsor a regular kiddush–cookies, nuts, fresh fruit, soda–and have the opportunity to share your simcha with friends.  More elaborate, “customized” kiddushim are also available. Please feel free to email us your special date to Kiddush@KolHaneshamah.org and we’ll be happy to send you a reminder.

USY Encampment: It's hard to think about the end of summer when it hasn't officially begun. But we hope you won't wait any longer to sign up for USY Encampment ... the only way to end your summer. USY Encampment will be held Monday-Monday, August 18-25 at B'nai B'rith Perlman Camp in Starlight, Pa. Applications are available for download and the deadline for applications is June 25. If you are unable to come for the entire week (because of sports camp, band, etc.) but want to come for AT LEAST half the week, arrangements can be made. You will experience all the fun of summer camp -- along with great USY ruach and friends -- in one week. The cost is $376 and includes accommodations, transportation, meals, and program supplies. Scholarship is available from Congregation Beth Sholom and Hagalil Region for those who apply. Don't delay ... send in your application today. Feel free to contact us at teaneckusy@teaneckusy.org if you have any questions about Encampment or Teaneck USY.

China Earthquake Relief: We can only imagine the pain the grief-stricken victims have experienced caused by the unspeakable loss of a child, a spouse, parents, siblings and lifetime possessions that were lost along with their homes… It is estimated that in addition to taking the lives of more than 70,000 people, the earthquake has disrupted the lives of more than 5,000,000 others who are in urgent need of shelter, food, clothing and medical care. Please use the links below to make a tax deductible donation to any one of the following organizations that are providing desperately needed relief to the Sichuan earthquake victims.
